TO GECA!
GECA is a performance-based, community theatre organization serving Escambia County, Alabama,
Northwest Escambia County, Florida, and surrounding areas. We are the largest all-volunteer organization supporting
the development of performing and
visual arts in the region. GECA is a 501(c)(3) public charity and donations to GECA are tax deductible under section
170(b)(1)(A)(vi). GECA is officially listed as a public charity in IRS Publication 78.

GECA is committed to support and develop
a love of and talent for the arts in all its various forms in South Alabama and Northwest Florida. It is our further
commitment to encourage community involvement in the performing arts by making available family-friendly opportunities to
participate in the production of, and enjoyment of live theatre experiences. With a commitment to professionalism in
all endeavors, GECA has built a reputation for first class performances. We currently have an active talent pool
of more than 100 performers, trained and untrained, who give their time and talents freely year round. This number does
not include the dozens of other skilled artists and craftsmen who share their abilities behind the scenes to support the performers
on stage. GECA continues to represent quality on and off the stage.

GECA Artistic Director Named Atmore
Citizen of the Year
Phil Johnson, GECA's Artistic Director was named Atmore's Citizen of the Year
for 2011 by the Atmore Chamber of Commerce at it's annual banquet Tuesday night, February 1st. Citing his work with
the arts in Atmore, Karl Robinson presented the award to a very surprised Phil.
